There’s nothing like spending summer vacation at Speyer!  Our camp programs are committed to maintaining the same level of excellence for accelerated learners that is provided throughout the academic year. Speyer's summer line-up is designed to delight the curious, gifted mind. Creativity and ingenuity guide our program. All of our camps are fully staffed by our fabulous Speyer faculty! INspeyerED Summer Camps are open to children in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.

INFORMATION AND DETAILS
Camp runs June 17-June 28! Camp hours are 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Before Care is available! INspeyerED Summer is for students in Kindergarten through Eighth Grade!

HOW TO REGISTER
Registration opens Wednesday, April 24  at 10:00 AM and closes Friday, May 10 at 5:00 PM. Registration for all camps is via CampBrain.

PAYMENT INFORMATION
Full payment is required at the time of registration. There is a $25 one-time CampBrain registration fee.  A discount is available to families who receive tuition assistance. 

 REFUNDS, WITHDRAWALS, AND CANCELLATIONS
You may withdraw your child's registration until May 10 for a refund.  No refunds will be issued if a child is unable to attend camp due to a positive COVID test result. Refund requests must be made to inspeyeredregistration@speyerlegacyschool.org

CODE OF CONDUCT - All rules and guidelines outlined in the student handbook extend to camp. Not following rules, repeated disruption, and disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to remove a child because of behavior issues and may exclude them from programs in the future.  There will be no refund in such cases.

BEFORE CARE
Before Care is available for an additional daily charge of $10. Campers enrolled in Before Care can be dropped off anytime after 8:15 AM. Campers in Before Care choose from a variety of activities including arts and crafts, reading, puzzles, iPads, and board games. Campers who arrive before 9:00 AM will be automatically sent to Before Care.

HEALTH & SAFETY PLAN
Programs strictly follow Speyer’s health and safety guidelines.

INspeyerED Summer Camp
(First Grade — Sixth Grade)
This camp is offered  Week 1 and Week 2

This is the heart of our summer programming! Campers attend specialized classes in STEM, cooking, art/makers, science, and sports! Choice and community are core components of our camp experience. Campers attend two daily electives of their choice and have multiple opportunities each day for physical activity, choice time,  games, and hands-on learning. Inquiry and play are woven into everything we do!

Lil’ Dragons Kindergarten Camp
This camp is offered  Week 1 and Week 2

This is a very special kindergarten version of our INspeyerED Camp for rising kindergarteners! Campers enjoy the same classes as older INspeyerED campers, while also getting to meet special members of our Speyer community! It is a wonderful way for rising kindergarteners to get to know Speyer before the first day of school.  The groups are smaller in size to provide extra support and nurturing to our youngest campers.

INspeyerED Chess Camp
(First Grade — Eighth Grade)
This camp is offered  Week 1

Explore the beauty of chess through the games of the masters and the games of the students. Chess Camp is an opportunity for chess players to extend their engagement in the chess process with a week of dynamic chess thinking, playing, studying, analyzing, and learning. This camp is open to campers who have participated in a minimum of nine tournaments during the school year (September through May). The daily schedule includes a non-rated G/45 tournament game and features a guest International Master or Grand Master to lecture and analyze campers’ games.  Campers will build their own customized tactics packet to build their chess toolbox.  In addition to dedicated chess time, campers attend two daily elective classes.

INspeyerED Expository Writing Camp
(Fifth and Sixth Grades)
This camp is offered  Week 1

Supersize your sentences and power up your paragraphs in preparation for middle school success! In this camp, students practice foundational expository writing skills including parts of speech, expanding sentences, and paragraph structure. Campers will engage in skills work, authentic writing, and literacy games. Leave with an arsenal of new strategies to approach academic writing with greater confidence and skill.

INspeyerED Middle School Musical Theater Camp (Fifth — Eighth Grades)
This camp is offered  Week 1

Are you ready to step into the spotlight? Join our exciting theatre camp and take a journey through the world of Broadway! Campers will have the opportunity to visit the esteemed Museum of Broadway, but first, we will dive into the worlds of acting, dance and song to experience what it means to be a performer. Campers will learn the ins and outs of putting on a show - from exploring classical and contemporary monologues and sonnets, to studying different choreographers and styles of dance through documentary and practice. Campers will wear many hats as they venture behind the scenes to study set design, lighting, and costume design.

INspeyerED Debate & Public Speaking Camp
(Fifth and Sixth Grades)
This camp is offered Week 2

Campers will deepen their expertise and hone the debate and public speaking skills they’ve been working on all year at Speyer. Throughout the week, campers will engage in exercises and activities that enable them to delve into case structure and preparation, advance argumentation skills, and sharpen rebuttal techniques.

INspeyerED High School Essay Writing & Creative Writing Camp 
(Seventh and Eighth Grades)
This camp is offered  Week 1 and Week 2

Campers will learn to present themselves in positive and thoughtful ways while reading, writing, and revising personal essays. We'll tackle questions such as “What makes me unique?” alongside more mundane questions like “How do I spell exercise?”.  Writers will become more self-reflective and confident in how to best present themselves in a positive light. Emphasis will be placed on finding and developing their voices as writers. Afternoon class time includes opportunities for creative writing experiences.

INspeyerED Assistant Counselor Program
(Speyer Class of 2024 Graduates)

Graduating Speyer students can work as assistant counselors at camp. We will be accepting a maximum of 6 assistant counselors.  This is an opportunity for students to grow their budding leadership skills and support younger campers throughout the camp day! The cost is $450. 

Program highlights include:

  • Dedicated daily time working with younger campers and gaining leadership experience!

  • The opportunity to plan and lead small group and whole group activities!

Applicants must:

  • Be available for the entire two weeks.

  • Arrive by 8:50 AM and stay until 4:15 PM.

  • Attend two lunchtime training sessions during June.
