Sophie Krupp Charitable Chess Festival 2025
Sunday, September 28, at Speyer School

The Inaugural Sophie Krupp Charitable Chess Festival will be held on Sunday, September 28, at Speyer School (925 Ninth Avenue at 59th Street in New York City). Join us for a full day of fun and social activities, including Rapid and Blitz tournaments, Grand Master appearances, simultaneous exhibitions, chess raffles, and more.

This joint effort between Speyer and Chess-in-the-Schools is open to all USCF members and will help support girls chess in NYC.

Event #1

Morning Rapid Tournament:  3ss G/15+3!
Players will be grouped into twelve 8-player sections based on rating. $50 entry fee.
Chess sets provided. Please bring a clock. Check in by 9:15 AM.

Event #2

Timed Simultaneous Exhibition with a Grandmaster!
Play in a 10-board simul against one of three Grandmasters: GM Irina Krush, GM Brewington Hardaway, or a mystery GM!
Participants will be assigned a GM.
Players get 45 minutes, GMs get 1 hour and 15 minutes. Max rating is 2000.

Afternoon Blitz Tournament: 4ss G/5+3!
Players will be grouped into six 16-player sections based on rating. $50 entry fee.
Chess sets provided. Please bring a clock. Check in by 1:15 PM.
